Post:
Post Office is marked with blue letters PTT in yellow background. The main post office in Istanbul is in Sirkeci - Büyük Postane, Büyük Postane Caddesi, Sirkeci (0212 526 1200/ www.ptt.gov.tr). Open from 8.30am-5.30pm daily.
Internet:
Istanbul has loads of Internet cafés; most of them have high standards of equipment and connection. Most of the cafes have wifi, you just need to ask the person in attendance for the password.
Taxi:
When stopping a cab on the street, make sure you ask the price first (approximate) and the taximeter is switched on for correct rate (day/night tariff). Night tariff is much more expensive
